I’ve been building furniture for about 15 years, and it all started with one simple request from my wife in our first home together:

“Can you make a folding table for the laundry room?”

I built it.

She loved it.

And I accidentally discovered how much I enjoyed designing and building.

Naturally, the requests kept coming — a TV stand table, another folding table when we moved, a bed frame, one for the guest room, and a headboard.

With every project, the designs got cleaner, the builds got stronger, and the passion got bigger.

Before long, friends and family started asking me to build pieces for them too.

That’s when I realized I didn’t just like building — I loved creating things that people could actually use every day.

Then came the big bathroom remodel.

I built everything: the vanity cabinets, the concrete countertop, the whole setup.

That project is what truly kickstarted the idea of turning this into something more — sharing my joy of building pieces that aren’t just beautiful, but built to last.

Today, that idea became Chisel & Trowel.

“Just a guy who likes playing with his wood, chisel, and trowel” as my wife likes to say.
